You were just starting to live.
You had been with your partner for several years and, making the milkmaid’s tale, you decided to take the plunge:
Buy a flat
(yes, although others may not believe it, many developers are not born rich).
Now you see it far away, but you remember it perfectly.
You set a ceiling.
You counted both salaries and talked a lot about that limit.
“I’ve already calculated it.
You’re already fixed. I don’t know but I think I’ll make it too.
The interest rates are very high but I think we could get up to a flat of so many thousand”.
With all the enthusiasm in the world, you started looking.
You knew what you wanted: two bedrooms and if it was without a swimming pool (what a luxury!) at least with a nice terrace.
You approached plots of land where they advertised: “New Construction”.
You visited those promoters that your parents recommended you.
It was like that. There was no social media and everything was discovered by word of mouth.
Unfortunately, you realised that what you liked was out of your reach.
But suddenly…
You discovered the ideal flat.
They showed it to you with plans that smelled funny and unfolded.
In that promotion, there was even a picture of the building painted in watercolour.
You went home excited. As soon as you sat down, you did the maths again. This time with a bolder optimism.
This flat had touched your hearts.
With a certain amount of unconsciousness, you decided to take the plunge.
Years later, when the family grew, you could no longer fit in and you sold it to move to one with a swimming pool.
Promoter, think about the illusion of that couple who came to see you yesterday.
Reflect on them. Share the illusion.
Show them the flat without skimping and even help them to do the numbers.
Our children have it harder now than we do. Do what you can and project your past into their future.
They will thank you for it and you will grow as a promoter.
If you do all that, you’ll sleep happy.
Don’t you think?
